✖ Laurent Le Guernec
Laurent Le Guernec was born in Paris, and spent part of his childhood in Grasse surrounded by the colors, aromas and flavors that fostered his appreciation of the sensory arts that would later influence his career.
Laurent studied at the prestigious ISIPCA perfumery school in Versailles. He worked for the well-known, naturals-producing Laboratoire Monique Remy in Grasse and later trained with legendary Master Perfumers Pierre Bourdon and Jean-Claude Ellena—building his reputation and skill as a master of remarkable fragrances.
Laurent’s unique style is characterized by his knowledge of classic French perfumery melded with his passionate appreciation of contemporary aesthetics. “Creating scents for Nateeva was emotional for me—it was like taking vacations to these wonderful places,” said Laurent. “With native flowers as my inspiration, I was searching for the soul within each flower, and was able to draw upon their smells, colors and textures to create beautiful fragrances that will transport you to exotic locations—and make the experience real and memorable.”
Laurent has won an amazing ten FiFi Awards—the most prestigious honor in the fragrance industry. He garnered much recognition for his creation Michael by Michael Kors, and has fashioned top-selling fragrances for Calvin Klein, Clinique, Dolce & Gabbana, Marc Jacobs, Elizabeth Arden, Katy Perry, Sarah Jessica Parker, Ralph Lauren, Lacoste, Hugo Boss, MAC, Christian LaCroix and Fergie. His niche fragrance portfolio is every-growing as well—with modern fresh blends for Derek Lam, Bond No. 9 and Lab on Fire. Laurent is senior perfumer at International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF).
